Introducing the University of the Third Age (u3a)

The University of the Third Age (u3a) is a learning co-operative of people no longer in full time work.  Anyone can join – all you need is interest and enthusiasm.  No qualifications are required and none are given.  The u3a offers the opportunity to share your knowledge, experience and talents with others and learn from them in a friendly environment.

The Lyme Regis u3a was founded in November 2005 and currently has a membership of approximately 600 from Lyme Regis and the surrounding area.  We hold regular monthly events and have over 40 interest groups/activities.  Please use the Menu links above, to find out more about our u3a, others nearby and the National organisation.

If you are not already a Member, please do join us and see what you are missing!  Click on Join Us to see how to join.  Our local motto is 'Make contact, make friends, keep learning'.

All of our Group Leaders and Committee Members volunteer their time and expertise to help our u3a to run smoothly.  If you would like to join a Group contact the individual group leader.  If you would like to see a new group started and/or feel able to lead a group, please contact our Groups' Coordinator, in the first instance.

Corona Virus (COVID-19)

Due to the Corona Virus, all the main monthly meetings have been cancelled until further notice.  Group meetings which are normally face to face, have also been cancelled.  Walking groups 1 and 2 and the Strollers have also been cancelled.  Various electronic means of communication and functioning are in place.  Please contact the group leaders or members of the Committee for details.

** Two monthly online presentations are taking place to replace the Science and Technology (S & T) meeting and the main meeting.  Information is provided in the monthly newsflash.  For further information please contact John Marriage (S & T) and Rachael Pope chair@lru3a.org
