Archaeology Group
The Archaeology Group meets on the first Wednesday of the month. Members agree a programme of activities and visits, which can include visits to museums, prehistoric sites, archaeological digs and reconstructions. The group’s main interests to date have been the Prehistoric and Roman periods but this may change in future. Members are responsible for doing their own reading and research but the results of this are often shared within the group. We occasionally meet in a member’s house to discuss what we have seen and plan future activities. Visits to prehistoric sites can sometimes require a level of fitness and suitable footwear and wet weather gear. They often take all or most of the day, requiring refreshment in a pub at lunchtime but that is optional. For more information or to join, please contact the group leaders, Christine Peat and Marilyn Kent by completing the contact form below.
